Relatives and friends of Baha'i leaders imprisoned in Iran spoke movingly at a National Refugee Week event on Sunday 22 June.

The event coincided with gatherings throughout Australia to pray for the seven Baha'i leaders.

A statement by the Australian Government expressing its concern at the arrest of Baha'i leaders in Iran has been welcomed by the Australian Baha'i Community.

The statement said the Government had raised its concerns with the Iranian Government.

Grave fears are held for the safety of seven Baha’i leaders being detained in Iran, some of whom have close relatives in Australia.

Efforts to determine where they are being held have been unsuccessful.
