Prominent MP condemns treatment of Baha'is
Prominent Government MP Maxine McKew has become the latest Australian political figure to speak out against the treatment of seven Baha'i leaders imprisoned in Iran.
"I condemn in the strongest terms the arbitrary nature of the arrest of these seven Baha'i members in Iran," Ms McKew told the House of Representatives.

Eminent jurist calls for pressure
International pressure should be brought to bear on Iran for the release of seven imprisoned Baha'i leaders, eminent jurist John Dowd told a gathering at the NSW Parliament on 9 February.
"This is not a trial -- this is a persecution," said Mr Dowd, president of the International Commission of Jurists Australia.
